Connect 365 was created to help small and mid-size businesses build stronger relationships with their prospects, improve the effectiveness of your email outreach and provide a system to easily manage your sales development.

The truth is that trust is at an all-time low in our society.

Whether it’s trust in corporations, politicians, journalists, you name it.

This might be doubly true when it comes to trust people have in salespeople.

Everything has shifted towards hyper-automation, over-the-top personalization and seems to try and remove any human element.

But the fact remains that people do business with those they know, like and trust.

“All things being equal, people will do business with and refer business to, those people they know, like and trust.” - Bob Burg

While traditional approaches to email marketing have slowly become less and less effective, Connect 365 can help you jumpstart your campaigns by taking a different approach.

Read on to learn more about how Connect 365 automates your email campaigns whether you are reaching out to cold or warm prospects.

The Two Different Kinds Of Email Marketing

The first email blast was sent in 1978 by a marketing manager named Gary Thuerk.

The result: $13 million in sales.

Needless to say a lot has changed in the world of online marketing since then.

For starters, Gary had absolutely zero competition in the inbox.

These days people receive 121 emails per day on average.

Inboxes have become overcrowded and the old way of doing things has lost some effectiveness as a result.

When a recipient sees an email like this.

It’s clearly an email blast.

If they even see it to begin with.

There’s certainly a place for this type of emailing, and it’s best served for very large sends to big groups of people who have a relationship with you or your business.

Email Blasts to Large Lists

The reason tools like Mailchimp or InfusionSoft can deliver emails like this to tens of thousands or millions of recipients is because they are taking on the job of sending the emails out from their servers.

While the sender information will list your email address, the actual sending won’t take place through your domain or email server.

That allows them to send these large blasts to your list out amongst a variety of servers.

The problem can be that with those servers sending out so many emails, the email providers where your recipients are reading their incoming email have gotten wise to this. They understand these servers are often marketing or sales emails.

And that’s not always a bad thing. If your audience is signing up for your newsletter, or opting in for your webinar content, or you just want to communicate with a large number of your subscribers, these tools are fantastic.

But where they are less effective is when you need to really cut through the noise.

When you need a more personal touch...

Personal Email to Targeted Lists

What is personal email?

Personal email is what is delivered exactly like an email you send out from your Google or Outlook email account manually.

It will look like this.

But it’s also sent through your main email account. The delivery isn’t through some 3rd-party.

Now you want to choose targeted lists of prospects to message because this isn’t the way to deliver 1000s upon 1000s of emails at once.

Google and Outlook both have daily total limits of emails you can send from within your account (500 on free, 2000 on paid).

But to maintain strong deliverability you want to stay even further below that.

When messaging cold audiences, we recommend starting with no more than 100 per day.

But with the smaller total sends, you can often find much greater results from your outreach.

Cutting through the noise and delivering an email that looks personal and is actually sent from your domain can have a big impact.

Again your domain won’t automatically be recognized as one that’s routinely sending large blasts. This will help your deliverability and your readability as well as making your outreach feel much more personal.

How Connect 365 Improves Email Open Rates

There are two primary ways.

Not sending through a 3rd-party server can help improve your deliverability (if managed well) giving your message a better chance to be seen.

Secondarily, by the message being formatted and sent like a manual message it can improve the likelihood of your recipient treating it like a personal message.

Beyond that there are a variety of ways we work with our customers to help improve their overall open rates.

From utilizing our proven campaign templates (and subject lines) to sharing strategies to connect and create more recognition with their prospects through social media.

All of this has led to the average open rate across our full user base being 39.2%!

Double the averages reported by most big-box senders. (link)

Automated Email Follow Up

We know that recipients are most likely to engage with emails when they recognize the sender.

This can be affected by how you initially build awareness with your audience (through social media most often) or how you maintain the relationship.

Did you know that almost 50% of salespeople give up on a prospect after one contact attempt?

Why is that?

Well, for one reason, many handle their outreach completely wrong. They scare away many prospects with their forward initial messaging or the tone-deaf approach.

But also it can come down to manual follow-up which can be time consuming. You need to simplify the ongoing outreach to ensure it gets done.

The dirty little secret about almost half your competition giving up after one try, is that in reality it’s been proven that it can take 6, 8, even 12 outreach attempts on average until a prospect will be ready to discuss your options.

But you can’t just rely on zero engagement for 12 messages.

You have to be building up the relationship and incentivizing your prospect’s engagement to continue having strong open rates and (more importantly) reply rates.

That’s how you ultimately build your sales pipeline of opportunities.

How Connect 365 Improves Email Engagement Rates

We’ve already discussed how you can see increases in opens. Naturally, you can expect a higher ratio of replies or clicks to total emails sent, if more of your emails are being opened to begin with.

But beyond that how can you aim to improve engagement with the content of your message and drive response or action from your contacts?

The biggest key is to remember the goal of email outreach.

The goal is to engage. The goal of your message shouldn’t be to sell. Email should be a vehicle to further build the relationship with your audience. This is especially important when targeting a cold audience.

Beyond that you want to maintain the personal style of your message. Your copy should feel like it was written to an individual rather than a large list.

Oftentimes when sharing content like a link to an ebook or a webinar, we will tease the details and ask the recipient to hit reply and let us know if they’d like us to send them a copy or invite.

We’re engaging them in the conversation and asking their permission to send. Rather than simply relying on that, the passive inclusion of a link will do the job for us.

Within Connect 365 we provide dozens of templates and an entire training & coaching program to help you create the most effective and engaging messaging possible.

The Importance of Having Your Emails Seen More

The effectiveness of any email outreach campaign begins with your email being seen and read. With Connect 365 you can be put on a path to generate stronger open rates, leading to more action-takers.

But don’t disregard the impact of having more readers. You want to be sure to harness that good will and more personal approach to email with the messaging you send.

If you prioritize email with Connect 365 as a place to build a deeper relationship and warm up new prospects or re-engage existing ones, you’ll be on the right track to generating more consistent results and opportunities with your email.
